About DuroByte Inc
DuroByte Inc was established in 2002 after the owner had spent a number of years developing programming, development, management, and business skills at various areas of industry, ranging from the military defense to industrial manufacturing.
Interestingly, the owner originally had no idea that he
was interested in starting a business. At an early age the
dream was to be a professional motocross racer.
However, the
lack of financial backing prevented this dream to start at
an early enough of an age. During high school it was of most interest to
get into the working world to make money to race motorcycles.
Being raised on a farm provided an opportunity to work with
mechanical equipment and tools. At an early age he was
fabricating and working with engines. The intention was to
finish high school and start an apprenticeship as a heavy
duty mechanic.
However, his father had other ideas about what field to
have his son pursue. He conveniently arranged for a job site
orientation at a local diesel repair facility. A few elderly
and seasoned mechanics explained that the future was
far brighter in the software and electrical field. Keep in
mind that this was in the mid 80's when the personal computer
was starting to take a foot hold. Leaving the site
orientation had convinced the him that, indeed, it was far
more advantageous to go into the electronic/software
career.
With the assistance of the local high school consular he were able to arrange for a post secondary education. Shortly after he graduated with honors. From this foundation he was able to secure employment with the Canadian Defense Department. This job provided an opportunity to develop micro processor based hardware and software development for various defence department related initiatives. It was this foundation that would later prove to be invaluable.
After a number of years in the defense arena, a move was made to the industrial sector, believing that this would be a more stable and consistent environment. During this time the introduction into the business world was fostered by personal friends who were successful business owners. It was decided to develop a background to start a business. Based on many conversations with these business people it was determined that the key success factors for business were technical, sales, and management. Having already developed the technical side of business, a move to a sales organization was developed.
It was during the tenure in the sales that win win strategy was developed. Simply, by providing solutions and products which make ones customer more successful one becomes successful. Once, a sound sales bases was developed for selling products and solutions the next move was into the management arena.
Within the same organization, a move from the sales role to a program management role was achieved. This role would develop the financial and personnel management skills to ultimately have a well rounded foundation needed to be successful in the competitive business world.
With the well rounded skill set developed over many years
the move into the business world was made by starting
DuroByte Inc. The company was designed to be a solutions
provider to the industrial sector, from the factory floor to
the office automation. The company has successfully provided
solutions to many valued customers varying in size from
small organizations to fortune 500 companies.
